Now that classes are back in session at all Pitt County Schools, Pitt Community College, and East Carolina University, our students need our focused attention.

Congregations for Children (C4C) and Backpack Pals are doing their part to support our neighborhood school, Wahl-Coates Elementary. To volunteer for C4C, please contact Karen Harrington. To volunteer for Backpack Pals, please contact Chrissy Evans.

Our international students, far from home and limited in their economic and social resources, also need our help. Ann Davis, head of the Higher Ed ministry of St. James UMC, offers these suggestions:

Donate furniture — call Eunice Zeager at 252-327-2050 (see paragraph below *)

Move furniture

Allow use of a truck to move furniture

Provide transportation — to church, activities, DMV, Social Security, grocery stores, doctor appointments, RDU

Host students at breakfast, lunch, or dinner

Provide gift cards for groceries

To help with transportation, meals, or groceries, or for more information about our College Ministry, please contact Ann Davis at ardavis9@gmail.com.

*Anyone who has furniture to donate to international ECU or PCC students or international teachers for the Pitt County Schools can contact Eunice Zeager (252-327-2050). She will arrange for picking up donated furniture. We also have an family with an international teacher and an international student that has been looking for a car. If you have a used car that you would like to sell or donate, please contact Eunice.
