The sign-up is now open for you to register to serve as a volunteer for one of our non-profit partners on Saturday, March 28, during our annual Spring Fling Day of Service.
Here are the agencies we will serve and the team captains who will lead our work:

Council on Aging — Lauren and Justin Thorn
Operation Sunshine — Amanda Tilley and Youth Leaders
Rebuilding Together — Mary Shearin and Phillip Rowan

Click HERE to register to work with one of the community partners (and our team captains).
Also, you can serve here at St. James UMC by helping the volunteers get off to a great start with an 8 a.m. breakfast and end the day in celebration with a noon lunch, both in the Fellowship Hall:
Community Service Breakfast — The Seekers Sunday School Class
Community Service Lunch — Judy Murad and 'Lizabeth Collins
Here is some background information about our Day of Service:
During the pandemic, the Spring Fling Committee organized Spring Fling into two parts — a Day of Service early in the month of April and the "traditional" Spring Fling day of fundraising late in the month of April.
This year, Spring Fling has gone back to that model, providing opportunities to serve our community partners on Saturday, March 28. The "traditional" Spring Fling remains in April, this year taking place on April 18 to raise money to distribute Spring Fling grants to community non-profit groups.
We continue to cherish and foster relationships between St. James UMC and non-profit groups as a way to love others, follow Jesus, and change the world.
The Spring Fling Day of Service is our "boots on the ground" approach to this partnership building. We will help our partners with tasks that require larger volunteer effort than they would regularly have available to them. In doing so, our volunteers will learn more about the work that our partners do in the community.
