A Message from Amanda Tilley
As we heard Pastor Becky speak from her “black robe” during One Church this past week, we need the congregation involved with our children, youth, and families. There are many ways to serve and hopefully one will resonate with you!
Sunday School-Children’s
Our approach to Children’s Pre-K to 5th Grade Sunday School is a bit different this year. The sign up asks for a lead teacher and two assistants each week. The lead teacher will share the lesson and activities. The folks who sign up as assistants are there to support the lead teacher, enjoy the kids, and help with bathroom breaks and transitions. You are not expected to serve the whole semester. We would love to see you sign up once a month, but once or twice a semester is welcome. There is such value for our children to see a variety of consistent faces.
To sign up, you can go to the link HERE or reach out to Kristine Nelson (kristine@stjconnect.org/252-316-2761).
Sunday School-Youth
High School Youth will be led by Lynne Garrison, Pastor Becky, and a growing team of leaders.
Middle School Youth will be led by Ann Davis, Amanda Tilley and a growing team of leaders.
Any adults that are feeling called to join the leadership team or simply be a part for either class should contact Ann Davis (ardavis9@gmail.com/252-916-7516) or Amanda Tilley (tilleyab@suddenlink.net/252-717-8359).
Youth Group
Partners are needed in a variety of ways:
Small Group Leaders—Lead youth in conversation about large group lesson or whatever comes up in conversation.
Small Group Assistant—Be a present adult, free to engage in conversation, low pressure.
Floater—Be with youth for any part of the evening.
Provide Meal—Cook and serve a meal or donate gift cards or cash toward meals.
Set-Up & Clean Up—Youth should throw away their own trash, this is more to help with smooth transitions into the next activity after dinner.
To sign up, you can go to the link HERE or reach out to Kuda Kwashe (kuda@stjconnect.org/336-260-0778).
TGIW—Children and Youth
This fall, children will have the opportunity to join in several activities on Wednesday nights.
Children—Junior Jesus Notes—Hosted by Kristine and Kuda. Lessons, games, crafts, and activities.
Youth—Gaming for God—Learn to be disciples through a devotion then transition to playing games
Children and Youth—One Voice Choir—Led by James Franklin (6:30-7 in the choir room)
Ways you can help:
Backup Leaders—Lead class when the primary leader cannot attend.
Assistants—Support the class leader by assisting with activities.
Floater—Walk children between class and choir
To sign up, please reach out to Kristine Nelson (kristine@stjconnect.org/252-316-2761) or Kuda Kwashe (kuda@stjconnect.org/336-260-0778).
