“A Loving Multinational Community”
St. James College & Young Adult Ministry
We are a multinational community of students and young adults, a realization of the movement initiated by Jesus (making disciples of many nations) and put into practice first by St. Paul (ethnically diverse churches). We eat, worship, and play together and reach out as new students arrive to welcome them into our community. We would love to meet you!

Free Food Mondays
A diverse gathering of students and young adults near campus to share a meal, engage in conversation, and make friends, hosted by St. James UMC (2000 E. 6th Street) and First Presbyterian Church (1400 S. Elm Street), Mondays, 5:30 – 7 pm during the fall and spring semesters.

Friday Game Nights
An opportunity to enjoy a good meal, play table games, visit the game room, play basketball, and connect with new friends from around the globe, organized by the Higher Education Committee, Fridays 6:30 – 9 pm, once a month.

Worship
Students sing and play a variety of instruments in the contemporary praise band and help on the tech team at the 9 a.m. contemporary worship. Other students sing in the choir, led by Dr. James Franklin, director of choral activities at ECU, at the 11 a.m. traditional worship.

Local Road Trips
We take road trips to local attractions—a farm in Greene County with a wonderful ice cream shop, the waterfront in Washington, NC, and hiking at River Park North in Greenville—to give students a break from studying.

Connect Recitals
A new initiative organized by Jacob McCain, a recent graduate of the ECU School of Music, that features students in the ECU School of Music playing in the St. James sanctuary for an appreciative audience.

Friendsgiving
A larger gathering of students before Thanksgiving featuring foods from around the world, connections to new friends, and a service project to benefit the community.

Meals at Home
Members of St. James invite students into their homes for delicious meals, just what students far from home need!
