After School Ministry
The St. James United Methodist Church After School Ministry provides a safe, caring, and faith-centered environment for children after the school day ends. Open to students in kindergarten through 5th grade, with a separate middle school group available, our program offers daily snack time, devotion, homework support, free play, and organized activities. Children are placed in groups based on their current grade level, allowing them to learn, grow, and build friendships in an age-appropriate setting.
Admission Information
Our After School Ministry is open to children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. A middle school group is also available. Children will be placed in classes based on their current grade in school.
St. James UMC Afterschool has a wait list for children attending the following schools: Eastern, Elmhurst, Hope, St. Peter's, Wahl Coates, and Wintergreen.

Program Information
St. James UMC After School Ministry is a private program and is not licensed with the state. However, we strive to maintain standards similar to licensed programs.
Our staff-to-child ratio is 1 staff member for every 15 children.
Daily Schedule
2:30–3:15 p.m. — Arrival & Snack Time
3:15 p.m. — Devotion
3:30 p.m. — Homework Time
After homework is completed, children enjoy free play and organized games.
Transportation
We offer pick-up service for children attending Eastern, Elmhurst, St. Peter’s, Wahl-Coates, Wintergreen, and Hope schools.
Additional schools may be added at the discretion of the Weekday Ministries Director. Child restraint seats are provided for our vans.
Children from other schools may also be accepted as long as transportation is provided by the family and approval is given by the Weekday Ministries Director.

Teacher Workdays
Additional $25 per child

Early Release Days
Additional $15 per child
Teacher Workdays and Early Release Days will be billed on the following month's invoice.
