Youth Summer Schedule

Thank you for your patience as we transition youth leadership. We will continue to pursue a strong youth ministries program and work actively to maintain our commitment to improvement, community, and discipleship. We humbly ask that you will keep the members of the SPRC and this ministry in prayer as SPRC hires a new youth director. Volunteers are working closely with pastoral staff to maintain the summer experiences so special to the youth and the fellowship they share. Here are important upcoming dates:
July 22-27 is Annual Conference Session for Youth (ACS) at Methodist University. Please pray for the success of this event for high school students.
July 29-31 are the NEW dates for the Middle School Mission Trip. The change in date is to allow more time to plan in a way that best serves the community where we will be volunteering. Hurry, spots are limited. We are capping this trip at 10 students, so sign up now! Parents, please volunteer!
August 15-16 will be the Middle School Mystery Trip for youth who have completed 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. Cost is $60 per participant. Register by July 31 by emailing Ben at ben@stjconnect.org or Catherine at catherineandthomas@suddenlink.net.
Save the date for Youth Kickoff on August 25 at 6 p.m. Youth in grades 6-12 are welcome to kick off the year in a messy way by participating in the St. James UMC Slime Olympics.
Look here for information to come about the Middle School Lock-In on September 13 and the Youth Council Election on September 29.
If you have questions or need further info, please contact Mark at Mark@stjconnect.org or 252-752-6154.

Director of Youth (full-time)

St. James United Methodist Church is seeking a Christ-following individual with a heart to oversee an exciting ministry. Come join a great team at a growing large membership church with some amazing young people! We’re looking for someone who can connect with our youth, equip volunteers, engage our parents, and help the whole staff team move forward in our shared ministry together. If you’re interested, send me your resume and tell me a little about yourself.

Sunday School Classes

We have weekly Sunday school, too! Classes meet from 10-10:45am on Sunday mornings. High school students meet in room 308. Middle school in the youth room.
