Be a Positive Influence in the life of a Child!

Are you looking for a way to make a positive difference in the life of a child?
Have you ever felt that God might be calling you to become a foster parent?
Methodist Home for Children is looking for stable, loving homes for children here in the Greenville/Pitt County area, and we would love to tell you about the process of becoming licensed as a foster parent and answer any questions you may have.

For more information, please contact Tricia Rossi at 919-410-4944. We will be having information meetings here at St. James on October 7 and December 16. Together In Education

Support Wahl-Coates School through Together In Education

As part of St. James’ ongoing efforts to support our neighborhood school, Wahl-Coates Elementary, please consider linking your Harris Teeter VIC card to Wahl-Coates. The school code for Wahl-Coates is 2852. All you have to do to enroll is to tell the cashier or customer service representative that you want to link your card to Wahl-Coates, and they can do it for you at the register.

Through Harris Teeter’s Together In Education program, Wahl-Coates and others schools can earn funds from linked VIC cards. When you shop Harris Teeter brands, a percentage of your purchase is donated to the school that your VIC card is linked to. There are no limits to how much a school can earn.

Please note that all VIC cards must be linked yearly. There is no cost to linking your VIC card. Participating schools can earn funds from August through May of each school year.

Children’s Community Garden

The Children’s Ministry Team is pleased to announce that we have a new, children’s community garden behind the church along 8th Street next to the Scout Hut. The four beds and two benches were built by member Pierce Harner as part of his Eagle Scout Project.  It is our hope that these gardens will produce vegetables which we can donate to our own church food pantry. If anyone is interested in helping maintain these gardens, please contact Molly at: molly@stjconnect.org.

Family Worship

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)

Beginning in October, we are starting something new! The FIRST Sunday of every month will be Family Worship. On these first Sundays, we will not offer Children’s Chapel or Childcare for school-age children during the worship services. Instead, we are excited to have them join us, share communion with us, and worship with the congregation! Nursery will still be provided for infants-4 year olds, and we will have Sunday school classes as usual for all ages during the Living Water hour.

For more information, please contact Molly Carpenter at 752-6154 or Molly@stjconnect.org
