Did Jesus mean what he said? Was Jesus talking to me or was he speaking to antiquated customs and beliefs of a bygone culture? Can I write off what he said as hyperbole to make a point? Can I rationalize some way to be a good disciple and ignore these sayings? What do I do with these sayings? How do they affect the way I live and where do they fit in my culture?
