St. James Preschool/Afterschool Needs Your Help!
St. James Preschool and Afterschool are trying to raise money for our 2012-2013 scholarship fund. These funds help families who would like their children to attend our program, but don’t have the means to do so financially. Scholarships are given based on several criteria. Applicants must turn in proof of income along with their application. The Weekday Ministries Board has recently implemented a “tier system” to help identify those families who are in most need.
Currently, we have 2 students on full scholarship and 1 student on partial scholarship. We are allotted $1000 at the beginning of every year to offer families. While it’s a blessing to be able to offer this amount, it is not nearly enough for the applications we receive. For example, the 5 day 4 year old tuition is $1620 for the next school year. This does not include the registration fee or supply fee. We had a gracious donation last year that allowed 2 full scholarships to be awarded. These children have thrived in our program and it was all possible because of a special person’s generosity.
Please pray about donating to this ministry. No amount is too small and would be received with great thanksgiving! If you feel led to donate, just write in the memo line of your check “weekday scholarship fund” and turn it in to Marianne Leventry. If you have any questions, please contact the preschool office and I will be glad to help.
Thank you ,
Kendyl Sisk
