Our 2012 Stewardship Campaign,
"A Holy and Living Sacrifice",
began January 15th and will end with an

All-church Celebration Luncheon
on Sunday, February 19th,
following the 11:00 and 11:11 worship services.

Meat, drinks and dessert will be provided - we ask each family to bring a side dish to share.

Come celebrate with us the work that God is doing through the people and ministries of St. James UMC!

When we ponder all of the needs in our world today it can feel overwhelming.  When we are disturbed by what we see we gain a small insight into the way Jesus disturbed people through His teaching and manner of living life.  Just as God does not give up on you and me we must not give up on others less fortunate.  As the letter to James so aptly states:

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works?  Can faith save you?  If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill’, and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that?  So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.   (James 2:14-17).

St. James does not give up on those less fortunate. The church is responsive to God’s call to help others. Stewardship makes us feel that we are helping in some small way to extend the hand of Christian love.
