Where is God leading the St. James Community of Faith?

THE PUZZLE IS COMING TOGETHER!!

We met with Mike Berry on WKWW on March 29th to take a look at the proposed master site plan for St. James.

Click here to view the site plan.

Thank you for your continued prayers.

The priorities from the Joel Team are as follows:

1st priority: Parking
- parking in front of sanctuary to include handicapped parking with drop-off location close to
door and covered walkway.
- in conjunction with this parking, possible extension of Narthex by way of an enclosed breezeway
toward Forrest Hills or extension between the Chapel and Library. The expanded Narthex
should include restrooms.

2nd priority: Children/Youth Wing and Expanded CLMC Lobby
- construction of a 2-story building between the present educational wing and CLMC to connect
both buildings and expand the CLMC Lobby. First floor would be designated as a Children’s wing
(nursery-5th grade) to include a worship center, all with limited access. The second floor could be
used as a youth area (6-12 grades) with a large youth room or it could be used as an adult area, specifically
for young adults.
- covered walkways and drop-off/pick-up access
- existing rooms in the education wing would be converted to staff office space and adult
classes.
- access to second floor storage area of CLMC through new building if possible.

3rd priority: CLMC improvements
- include enough room for youth
- include stage expansion and storage

4th priority: Sanctuary improvements
- The Trustees have already begun making improvements in the sanctuary with new lighting
that is being presently installed.

If you have additional ideas, suggestions or questions before October 5, a separate email has been set up just for this purpose. We’d love to hear from you at joelteam@stjconnect.org.

The most important part of this whole process is prayer and our intentionally seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead us in making these important decisions. As we enter this Season of Prayer and Discernment, make this a part of your daily prayer life.

VISION REPORT FROM THE JOEL TEAM

Thank you so much for all who participated in the interviews and seminars conducted by church consultant Bill Easum as we proceed with our visioning for the future of St. James.
