Ash Wednesday – February 13th

 

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. It is a season of penance and reflection which prepares us for Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

At St. James UMC we observe the beginning of Lent with an Ash Wednesday worship service. It will be held in the Christian Life Ministries Center at 6:30pm on Wednesday, February 13th.

Our Lenten them this year is the "Journey To The Cross" and we will begin by gathering together at the foot of the cross and laying our burdens before God. You are asked to bring a rock or stone to symbolize your burdens to place at the cross. We will have some at the service for those who did not bring their own. Come join us for a reflective time with music, readings, reflections and the imposition of ashes.
